Theme of the 56th Independence Day
 
"Malaysiaku Berdaulat: Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku" is selected theme of the 56th Independence Day this year. 


Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Commission (KKMM) in a statement today said the theme of the Cabinet agreed. 

Celebration of the 56th Independence Day on August 31 will be held at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur. 

According KKMM, themes that are more oriented towards the unity and patriotism and national unity of the people chosen to remind people of the importance of defending the country together while creating awareness of affection and love for the country. 

"In line with this theme approach, the concept of this year's celebration will be more focused on the elements of unity, patriotism, sovereignty and national security. 


"Incident invasion Lahad Datu and Semporna in Sabah is the best lesson in improving core in the military," the statement said. 

In conjunction with the selection of this theme, KKMM said independence of the logo contest was held for 10 days and Omar Noor Hishammuddin selected as grand prize winners with cash prize of RM5, 000 and a certificate. 

To celebrate the 56th Independence Day is , according to several events will be held including the launch of the float to be held on August 16 at Square Zero, Sungai Petani , Kedah. 

Threshold Merdeka celebration will be held for the first time in Putrajaya Maritime Centre abuzz with activities starting at 5 pm organized by the Putrajaya Corporation, including Carnival Putrajaya International Fireworks Competition. 

"Independence Day Parade and march 56th will be held at Dataran Merdeka involving national security team performances consist of a combination of the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP), the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA). 
 
"The event involved four segments namely Pillar National Union of People's Unity Universal, National Prosperity and Well-Being With My Malaysia Sovereign : native land with the participation of about 4,000 people, including the formation of the field events, exhibitions asset security forces and aerial demonstrations by the police and traffic ATM will be held". 

In conjunction with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Malaysia Day, KKMM said Sabah and Sarawak will hold various events for the celebration includes ornate boat show to be held at the Sarawak River waterfront on September 15 and the launch of a special coin after the Golden Jubilee at Padang Merdeka, Kuching on September 16. 

"In Sabah, the celebration of the Golden Jubilee event 50th Malaysia Day will be held at Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu starting 15 September inclusive activities and highlights the People Carnival celebrations on September 16, which will be highlighted with the participation of all 35 races or ethnic groups complete with dress traditional tribes respectively," he said.
